The Tango Social Club of Canberra is celebrating 10 years of tango in Canberra. To mark the occasion, the Club is holding a special milonga at St John's Church Hall, Reid on Saturday 10 April 2010. Everyone is welcome to attend, whether you are a veteran tango dancer, have only danced tango in your dreams or just want to enjoy the atmosphere of a traditional Argentine milonga. The 10th anniversary celebrations will include dancing to the finest recordings of traditional tango as well as a performance by Canberra's own 5-piece tango band, 'Los Jovenes del Tango'.

Over the last 10 years the Tango Social Club has provided Canberra tango dancers with regular social dancing opportunities as well as lessons by highly regarded national and international visiting teachers. The Club also regularly participates in community festivals and events including the Multicultural Festival, the National Folk Festival and Floriade. The Tango Social Club of Canberra is a not-for-profit association with over 100 members who dance social Argentine tango and who are passionate about tango.  

Tickets to the anniversary milonga remain at the usual price of $10 for members ($15 non-members). That's an excellent price for  over 4 hours of dancing, live music and birthday cake to boot!
